It has been an amazing 4 years since Springs Equality’s opening and we are incredibly sad to be closing down our organization. What started as the phoenix that rose from the ashes of the previous Pride Center, has since blossomed into the non-profit we have today. If you’ve had the opportunity to join us at any of our lovely events in the past, you will know how Springs Equality’s mission: to connect, enrich, and inspire the LGBT and Allied community, was actualized.
Our online resources have helped many of those looking for help, redirected people to LGBT owned/friendly local businesses, and served to connect new comers to our local community.
Our Facebook Page has double in following, and we worked tirelessly to provide a small space for positivity in someone’s day.
Our events gave many an excuse to get out of the house and meet each other. We felt that meaningful connections happen organically through intimate settings and shared interests. We’ve gathered over outdoor projects, playing with dogs, helping seniors, learning a new dance, cleaning up parks, watching films, and simply having a meal or coffee together. We’ve shared coming out stories, embraced each other, took many goofy photos, and strived to provide a safe space for people to come to us as they are.
We hope that we have been able to serve the community in this right, as we have been greatly transformed in the process of serving you!
Flora, Angelina, and the Springs Equality Team
*We will be discontinuing events for June 2019, and will hold our Facebook Page and website (with subsequent contact information) active until the end of the month to allow any remaining communications. We will also be donating the remainder for our funds to PrideFest, who work so hard to put on a festival for the community every year. If you have questions please feel free to email firstname.lastname@example.org through the end of the month.
